Gerbera Ring : Instructions

To make:-

1. Thread 7 daggers onto the beading wire, letting them fall to the half way point, then pass one end of the wire though the 8mm round and the other end of wire through the round in the opposite direction and pull both ends taut.

2. Thread on to one end another 7 daggers then pass it through the 8mm round again, from the opposite side to that which it is emerging. Pull the wires taut.

3. Loosely twist the ends together a couple of times and hold it allowing the flower to dangle upside down. Allow the petals to fall at random angles, as if some of them are only partly opened, then put some glue in between each of them at their base. Leave to completely dry.

4. Using the chain nosed pliers, slightly prise apart the two rows of loops on the ring, to allow the 8mm round to sit between them. Sit the 8mm round in the centre of the ring so the hole runs from top to bottom.

5. Pass the wire protruding from each side through the centre loops on the bottom and the top rows of the ring a couple of times to hold in place.

6. Taking one end of wire, thread on a ToHo, then pass through the next loop twice, add another ToHo, pass through the next loop twice. Then add 2 ToHos. Pass through the next loop (the first on the other side) twice, add another ToHo and pass through the next loop twice. Take the wire back though the previous loop twice to finish off, and trim, tucking the end out of sight.

7. Repeat step 5 with the second end of wire.

N.B.

This costume ring is intended for occasional light duty wear, and the petals may eventually become loose as the glue wears away. This can easily be rectified by dabbing a little more glue between the petals and leaving to dry.
