Kit : Hazy Hoops Necklace

Swarovski have recently created a brand-new style of element in the Fusion Concept range ~ the Ceramic family of beads, pendants and stones. These elements feature a craquelling glaze finish, and the colouring is inspired by clay products, sculpture and archaeological artefacts. This departure from their standard range opens up a whole new area of affordable design options.

This stunning necklace demonstrates how the use of the traditional crystal elements contrasts and complements the new ceramics. Mix and match with other components to create unique and up-to-the-minute masterpieces that really stand out from the crowd.

Hazy Hoops Necklace : Instructions

To make:-

1. Knot the cord (at the end without the needle attached) 3cm from the end using an overhand knot.

2. Thread a 6mm pearl. Tie an overhand knot. Thread and knot seven more pearls, alternating the four colours. Ensure you always tie the knots in the same direction.

3. Pass these eight pearls through the centre of the large ring and tie the thread to itself to form a circle using the 3cm tail. Glue the knot. When dry cut off thread close to knot, cover knot with a crimp cover, gently squeezing it shut with flat or chain nosed pliers.

4. Continue to knot on all the remaining 6mm pearls as before. Pass the end of the thread and the last few pearls through the small ring. Tie a knot after the fourth pearl from the end, to form a circle. Glue the knot and when dry cut thread close to knot and cover with crimp cover as before.

5. Cut a 6cm length of beading silk from the left over length. Loop it through the small ring. Tie a knot, making a circle with a diameter of approximately 2cm. Glue the knot and when dry trim close to knot and attach remaining crimp cover.

6. Pass the small ring through the large ring. Ensure it stays there throughout the next step. This important as this will not be able to be done after the dangles have been attached.

7. Make four dangles using the four remaining pearls in the following way - thread a pearl onto a headpin, bend pin over by 90 degrees using flat nosed pliers, trim to 7mm using side cutter pliers and roll into a loop using round nosed pliers, slipping onto the beading silk loop before fully closing.
