How To Make Bead Bracelet : Purly Wurly Bracelet

Sort your beads out and group them in twos of a smaller and a larger bead in contrasting shades and make dangles to hang of the bracelet in the following way:

Thread one pair of beads onto one headpin and hold it in one hand with your third finger underneath to stop the pin dropping out.

With you other hand, use flat nosed pliers to bend the pin over by 90 degrees, close to the top of the last bead.

Swap the pliers for side cutters and trim the pin to about 8mm.

Swap the side cutters for round nosed pliers and grip the tip of the pin with them, about 5mm up the "nose". Roll a loop with the pliers, ensuring that it fully closes. (The size of your pliers will affect the size of the loop you make, so this is an approximate guide. You need the loop you make to be big enough to take a jump ring and allow the dangle to move freely.)

Repeat the above steps to form approximately 35 dangles.

Lay the open bracelet out and arrange the dangles next to it so they fill the length in a balanced appearance, that is a mix of larger and smaller ones and shade varieties all the way along.

Attach the dangles to the bracelet using one jump ring per dangle, making sure you use all the links and doubling up in places along the length.

N.B. To open a jump ring, grip either side of the join and slide one side towards you and one side away from you, reversing the action to re-close it. Make sure the ends sit back together in a smooth join. This process is perhaps easier with 2 pairs of flat or chain nosed pliers, but it can be done with one pair and your finger and thumb.
